directed by Simona Zemaityte director of photography Ugur Becer The surrealist artist Leonora Carrington, a former lover of Max Ernst was driven insane when Ernst was incarcerated. At one point she made a skull out of sugar giving it away to be eaten saying ‘love transforms death into sweetness’. What if there was a factory that produces LOVE? How does it effect machines and people working there? The film is a visual journey through metamorphosis of sugar and love. After 4 years of research, the film is currently being shot in old sugar mills of India, states of Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh that have long history and tradition of sugar manufacturing.
